Frequently Asked Questions

What camera do you use?

I use a Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000. A very good webcam, with manual focus, and at a relatively cheap price too. Another good webcam is the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000, but mine is fine, so I don't feel I need two.

What program(s) do you edit your videos with?

It may sound stupid, but Windows Movie Maker is a great program to edit with. I use it, and so does half of the brick filming community. Although I plan to upgrade to something better after Pie Island.

What software do you capture images with?

I use a great program called MonkeyJam. It's free and works with virtually any webcam. Just visit their website at www.giantscreamingrobotmonkeys.com

How can I make special effects?

You can buy Adobe After Effects, but it's costly. I used to use Microsoft Paint from 2009, but then I upgraded to GIMP 2.6 (it's free). Also, I don't ant to go around spending money on After Effects or Photoshop.

Where do you get your Lego from?

Well that's a weird question. When I was younger I brought my Ello box into class for a party and some of the kids' Lego got mixed up. That's where most of my Lego comes from. But other then that mostly Toys 'R' Us.

How do you voices into movies?

I use a program called Sound Recorder, which came with my PC. I record my voices with a Logitech USB Microphone. I also layer all my music in Audacity. Visit www.audacity.sourceforge.net

Will you voice for me in my movie?

Probably not. I won't voice for people unless I know them very well in real life. Splodge is a good example of this. (he is voice acting as Ted, and a few other characters in Pie Island)

What are some websites that will help me get good?

I went to an amazing website called www.bricksinmotion.com with helpful tips, and awesome movies. www.vimeo.com and www.youtube.com are some good video sharing sites.
